Shornodip Island
Bangladesh Army
PCPL executed a landmark three-phase renewable energy mission for the Bangladesh Army at Shornodip, Hatiya, Noakhali —one of Bangladesh's most isolated coastal islands previously entirely dependent on diesel generators. Across three meticulous installation phases stretching from 2017 to 2024, our engineers successfully integrated a total of 152 kWp of pure off-grid solar capacity. Equipped with massive localized battery storage arrays delivering up to 24-hour backup cycles, these systems now power the Moynamoti and Support Camps entirely independently, resulting in unprecedented cumulative savings of over 44,000 liters of diesel annually and representing a monumental leap in sustainable military infrastructure.

Project Phases
Phase 1
The first phase introduced four independent systems: a 30kWp off-grid solar system with 124.8 kWh battery storage at Moynamoti Camp, delivering reliable 12-hour backup power for essential loads (lights, fans, refrigerators). This phase also included two 1kWp portable solar generators and a 1kWp solar light tower for VIP enclosures, fundamentally establishing clean power infrastructure on the island.

Phase 2
Building on initial success, Phase 2 aggressively expanded capacity with an additional 30kWp off-grid system featuring 144 kWh of battery storage. A specialized 4kWp portable solar generator was also deployed to handle specialized mobile charging, television, and critical server requirements across the Moynamoti Camp.
Phase 3
The final phase culminated in the largest single deployment on the island: an 85kWp off-grid powerhouse at the Support Camp, equipped with a massive 230.4 kWh battery energy storage system. Designed for true 24-hour continuous backup, this phase finalized the transition of the facility away from diesel reliance, offering complete operational energy independence.
