Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board

Addressing the unique geographical energy challenges of the hill districts, PCPL successfully engineered a sophisticated 60.72 kWp hybrid solar solution at the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board (CHTDB) Head Office in Rangamati. Awarded in July 2020 and commissioned by November 2020, the infrastructure utilizes a dual-system approach. System 1 features a 42.9 kWp on-grid array generating 54 MWh annually (50 kW AC output) that feeds directly into the grid. System 2 is a highly resilient 17.82 kWp off-grid module paired with a substantial 96 kWh battery storage bank, providing 12-hour backup to 5.4 kW of essential lighting and cooling loads. The off-grid segment alone guarantees autonomous operation during grid failures and delivers BDT 236,520 in expected annual electricity bill savings.
